25 years in mortgage. One conviction.
I've spent 25 years in mortgage. I built a loan origination system before — lived in the data models, the compliance rules, the workflows, the forms, the permissions. I watched the same loan get re-typed into one more system, one more time, for a decade and a half.
The conviction is simple: the tools should've gotten better by now. The reason they didn't isn't a mystery — the platforms that won the last cycle were built before the iPhone, and you can't retrofit your way to a shared data model. So we're building the ones that should exist.
Nothing radical. Just built this decade, by people who've actually closed loans.
We work in public. Teardowns, decisions, and the data model — out loud.
Nothing signals legitimacy like obvious command of the customer's world. So we publish the thinking, name the hard problems, and let the work speak.
